Located near the Marina, the Naval Club of Cascais was established in 1949 and since its birth, played a relevant role in the development of water sports in Portugal, having the most relevancy in sailing.
Its Sailing School initiated activity in 1950 and for over 40 years the School was responsible for the preparation of many portuguese sailers, some with national and international projection.
Established in 2007, its Centre for High Performance Sailing permited that the club received and supported any major sailing competition.The Sailing School has 5 learning levels (Optimist, Laser, 420, Hobie Cat and Sprinto), for either children or adults.
Sailing baptism
The Nautical Club also does Sailing Baptism sessions, for all people who wish to experiment and learn the sensation of sailing with the wind and the waves, has well has Intensive Summer Sailing Courses, windsurf courses and meteorology training.
For people with mobility disabilities, the Sailing Club has an adapted school and organizes multiple competitions in this class.
With an agenda filled with events over the year, the modern infrastructures of the club allow you to also organize events for companies, by renting rooms equipped with audiovisual equipment and catering services, boat renting and the preparation for Sea Activities by qualified personnel, all with the help of the infrastructures of the Cascais Marina.
Cascais Sailing
From the organized regattas Dragon Winter Series stands out, with the presence of renowned teams of the Dragon class, the Audi Med Cup, the most mediatic nautical European event and the Sailing Cascais 2010, a regatta which fleet is composed by boats wuth over 17 meters, are the centre of attention of the International circuit.
A Renowned Institution of Public Utility, the Cascais Naval Club has provided invaluable support to the Captaincy of the Cascais Port, by providing a life-saving station, making the sea rescue activities in the area of jurisdiction of this captaincy more efficient.
It is also important to note that Cascais was the stage, in 2007, of the World Sailing Championship, from which the club was one of the main organizers.
