The first and only CoWorking space in the country located in a tourism office

Cascais Tourism Board introduces an innovative concept in Portugal. The Coworking Cascais Visitor Center is a multifunctional space that includes a tourist information center, a shop, an event venue, and a coworking model where payment is made in working hours.

A pioneer in Portugal, the Coworking Cascais Visitor Center offers remote workers a unique opportunity to work in an inspiring and dynamic environment, with a premium location overlooking the Bay, without requiring a cash payment. Instead, coworkers contribute hours of work in their areas of expertise to projects related to Cascais Tourism, fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences. This initiative reflects the region's commitment to attracting digital nomads by providing ideal conditions for living and working.

This innovative space aligns with Cascais’ long-standing tradition of welcoming foreigners and enhances its appeal to digital nomads, a segment the region is actively targeting and which is experiencing strong growth in Portugal. In 2023, the country issued approximately 200 digital nomad visas in just two and a half months. Cascais already boasts a well-established expat community with 139 different nationalities—representing around 20% of the population—primarily from the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and the United States.

In Cascais, we don’t wait for the future and the Coworking Visitor Center is proof of that. This model not only positions Cascais at the forefront but also aims to attract brilliant minds – digital nomads who, like us, challenge the present. In an innovative space, where tradition fuels disruption, we are creating a vibrant ecosystem conducive to new ideas and projects. We are pioneers, shaping tomorrow with innovative solutions for the region," assures Bernardo Corrêa de Barros, President of the Cascais Tourism Association.

The Tourist information center was strategically redesigned this summer to become a welcoming space for both the international and local community, offering a range of new services. This fully revamped spot aims to be a “home” that reflects the DNA of Cascais—through its atmosphere, local products, sustainability initiatives, coworking space, and the events it hosts.
